GFCI Instructions
Setting up the GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) power unit:
- Your GFCI power cord should be at least 2 meters long. Alternatively, you can purchase cords in lengths of 4, 6, or 8 meters.
- Before plugging in your GFCI power unit, ensure that all mats in your set are properly connected.
- Connect the female end of the GFCI power cord to the male connector of mat #1 in the series.
- Once all mat connections are secure, plug your 3-pronged GFCI power unit into an outdoor electrical outlet that has been properly grounded by an electrician.
- When the GFCI light is turned on, the mat is powered on.
- The GFCI power unit which connects the mats to your outdoor outlet is designed to safely handle up to 15 Amps; however, IceTrek recommends not exceeding 14 Amps. If the connected mats exceed 14 Amps, please disconnect some of the mats and connect them to another power unit. The best way to determine how many mats can be connected together is by adding up the total amperage of each mat, which can be found in the manual on the last page, and the green product labels around the connector cables.
- The mats will generate heat up to 3.6MJ, based on 1000W/H.
- The plug and GFCI should stay dry at ALL times.
Disclaimer: When temperatures exceed 5°C (41°F), disconnect the heating mats when not in use to prevent heat-related damage.
